KATHLEEN L. SCHEELE

 Ms. Scheele has over 17 years of clinical laboratory experience. She has held laboratory management positions for seven years, including managing information systems.

 She holds a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Wisconsin. She is certified as a Medical Technologist from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).

 At St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, a 626-bed tertiary hospital, she has consistently recognized and implemented improved ways to accomplish activities through better utilization of information systems.

 She has been involved with multiple installations of laboratory information systems. As project manager, she coordinated the selection and installation of a replacement stand-alone system. She prepared and evaluated the Request for Proposal and participated in contract negotiations. Installation responsibilities included hardware and software setup, training laboratory staff, and coordinating an interface to the hospital information system.

 As manager of two laboratory information systems, she has maintained programs and files, implemented system modifications, performed troubleshooting and problem-solving, and coordinated routine system activity.

 She has extensive experience with microcomputer application programs in a laboratory setting. She has developed applications for communication with other systems as well as for productivity, budget preparation, and utilization.

 Ms. Scheele has authored articles on microcomputer applications for the laboratory and selection criteria of laboratory systems.

 Professional affiliations include the American Society of Medical Technologists (ASMT) and National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel (NCA).
