DAVID G. SHAFER Mr. Shafer has been involved in the healthcare industry for more than 25 years. He is a seasoned information systems professional with extensive experience in healthcare and business information systems. His expertise includes operations management, software conversions, and project management. Mr. Shafer has a strong track record of delivering multiple short- and long-term projects on time and on budget with a primary focus on applying technology to operational business problems within a profit-oriented environment. Mr. Shafer holds a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems from California State University, Sacramento, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis. He has received his Medical Technology certification from UC Davis Medical School and his Project Management Certificate from the University of Phoenix. He has served as a Chief Information Officer for Laboratory Sciences of Arizona, Phoenix, with primary responsibility for strategic direction and operations of information systems including clinical and billing/accounts receivable systems. He has also held the positions of Vice President of Information Systems and Director of Laboratory Information for Physicians Clinical Laboratory in Sacramento where his responsibilities included a shared system supporting lab operations in five acute care hospitals, as well as the outpatient facility, and the clinical and financial systems. Mr. Shafer has been actively involved with laboratory information systems having held the positions of Information Systems Manager, Systems Analyst, Programmer Analyst, Lab Programmer, and Medical Technologist for Mercy Hospital of Sacramento. He also served in the United States Air Force as a Medic. As Senior Project Consultant for Dennis Winsten & Associates, Mr. Shafer assumes key roles of responsibility as Project Manager and/or Principal Consultant for various information systems projects. |
