LONNIE M. VANDERSLICE Ms. Vanderslice has over 20 years of experience in the clinical laboratory, with over 16 years in various management positions and 15 years in computer systems. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from Northwest Missouri State University and graduate hours in Public Health Administration from University of Missouri in Kansas City. She has earned credentials as a registered medical technologist (MT ASCP), Bioanalytical Laboratory Manager (BLM AAB), Clinical Laboratory Director (CLD NCA), and Diplomate in Laboratory Management (DLM ASCP). She has also earned an adult education teaching certificate from the State of Missouri in Data Processing. Her range of computer experience includes the evaluation, selection, acquisition, installation, and use of LIS and microcomputer systems; end user training and classroom instruction in computer applications; and use of computer technology to provide management decision support. Her experience in the clinical laboratory encompasses all laboratory disciplines, with specialization in management and education. Ms. Vanderslice is active in a wide range of professional activities. She is co-founder of the Kansas City Chapter of the Clinical Laboratory Manager's Association, and currently serves as the Chapter's President. She is the Chapter's former Vice President and newsletter editor and has been a member of the board since its founding. She has served on CLMA's Computer Technology Committee, and as the chair of the Information, Data, and Research Committee. She has also served as the associate system operator of CLMA's national Electronic Bulletin Board system. She was formerly Executive Director of Laboratory Management Services, Inc., and formerly the Manager of Laboratory Support Services for Trinity Lutheran Hospital, a 750-bed tertiary care hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Prior positions include LIS System Manager for Trinity Lutheran Hospital, Director of Laboratory Services at Spelman Memorial Hospital, and Data Processing instructor for the Platte County Area Vocational Technical School (PCAVTS). As Data Processing instructor for the PCAVTS, she conducted extensive hours of on-site training in microcomputer systems for employees in a variety of area businesses, including National Seminars, Inc., of Overland Park, Kansas, and the United States Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Ms. Vanderslice is a member of the American Management Association (AMA), American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB), the American Society for Systems Management (ASM), the American Society for Medical Technology (ASMT), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), the ASTM Computer Health Care Subcommittee E31.1400 on Clinical Laboratory Instrument Interfaces, the Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA), the Missouri Society of Medical Technology (MSMT), and an associate member of College of American Pathology (CAP). |
